Monthly Report Feb 2018

School Exam/Results: - APS School final exams were held in Feb and by the end of the month of February, the results were announced. Overall school results remained steady with overall students scoring average was more than 65%. Board exams results for class 5 and class 8 will be out in March.


Farewell Party: - Class 7 arranged a Farewell party for Class 8 who will be passing into high school. Class 7 brought some home cooked delicious food. Mrs Nabeela Sandhu (Educationist/Volunteer) visited the school to attend this ceremony.


Funds: - 1st donation for year 2018 was received by our regular sponsor Dr Nazia, who chipped in $200 this month to the cause.

Monthly Report Jan 2018

Thank you for reading our 1st Newsletter of year 2018. Below is the quick recap of Year 2017 in APS.

100% Board Exams results: – 2017 was another year where school produced 100% passing ratio in board exams of Class 5 and Class 8.

Sponsorship: – Huge thanks to our individual sponsors who have taken all the education related financial burden from the middle passed students for higher studies. Our generous sponsors for individual students were Haroon Mirza, Rizwan Butt, Jahangir Iqbal and Shahid Bashir.

APS Awareness in Intel USA: – On May 24th, we presented Amir Public School Pakistan in Intel USA (Asia Week). We raised the awareness on APS and the type work we do. The session was organized with the support of Intel Pakistan network and Intel Arizona communication group.

Teacher training: – Long awaited Teacher training was conducted with the coordination of Punjab Education Foundation. This teacher training was 2 weeks long and teachers completed Level 1 and Level 2 capacity building trainings successfully, Teachers from other schools joined this stimulating training as well bringing total number of participates to 20. Trainings were hosted in APS.

Government Scholarships:- We are delighted to announce that 2 of the middle Passed Amir Public School’s students Picked up government Scholarship for their higher studies. Thanks to APS hardworking staff for producing excellent results in board exams.

NGO Registration: – We achieved a major milestone this month when our NGO “NAYA UJALLA” obtained legal status which enables us to interact at the official level, and among donors and other organizations. The EIN number assigned to us is 822306156. We also got TAX Exemption status.

Amir Visits School: – Chair APS visits APS in the month of December and spends some quality with school staff and students. 1:1 meetings were held with school staff on performance reviews and areas for the further growth. Amir also had some interactive sessions with students and parents during his 5 weeks long trip.

2017 Annual School Program: – This program comprised Students performing stage drama, debates, singing and excellence awards for some of the students. The Chief guests came from long way to attend the ceremony that includes Umar Cheema (A local Hero from the village), who is well known investigative journalist currently residing in Islamabad. Rtd Colonel Karman from Lahore, Hannya Janjua from USA.

Funds:- We generated 9407 USD in total this year.

Year 2018 Plans: – Our top short term goals are listed as Water Filter Plant, Library built up and High School extension. We will be working more aggressively for funds generation during 2018 to achieve our short term goals & will be targeting to double the amount of funds generated in 2017. Monthly Report Dec 2017

Amir Visits school:- Chair APS visits the school in December 2017 and spends some quality with school staff and students. One to One meetings were held with school staff on performance reviews and areas for the further growth. Amir also had some interactive sessions with students and parents during his 5 weeks long trip.

Annual School Program: – The School annual program for year 2017 was conducted. This program comprised Students performing stage drama, debates, singing and excellence awards for some of the students.

The Chief guests came from long way to attend the ceremony that includes Umar Cheema (A local Hero from the village), who is well known investigative journalist currently residing in Islamabad. Rtd Colonel Karman from Lahore, Hannya Janjua from USA.

 

The student’s performances were adored a lot by the honorable guests, Parents and fellow students.

Funds:-

Colonel Kamran Chipped in 25000 i.e ~225 USD. The told donations received for the cause this year were 9407 USD.

Monthly Report Nov 2017

Iqbal day: – Iqbal Day is the birthday of Allama Muhammad Iqbal on 9 November. Sir Iqbal, a poet and philosopher, was a great inspiration for the Pakistan Movement.

APS Students celebrated Iqbal day in full spirit where the students and staff held some interactive discussion on Iqbal’s Poetry. They also decorated their class rooms with charts having Iqbal’s poetry written on these.

 

Funds:- Rizwan  Butt continued his sponsorship for 2 girls students “Muqadas Sarfraz” and “Kainat Maqsood” who have cleared the high school by now. Muqadas is pursuing her career as a staff Nurse and getting an admission in a nursing school while Kainat is carrying on to the collage in same campus and currently enrolled in FSC.

Rizwan Chipped in 450 GBP which is equal to PKR 70000 and 622USD. The told donations received for the cause this year were 9182 USD.

Monthly Report Oct 2017

Government Scholarships:- We are delighted to see Amir Public School’s students getting shortlisted for government’s scholarship program for high schooling. Thanks to APS hardworking staff for producing excellent results in board exams.

1st Term Exams results:- 1st term results came out with 80% + average scores throughout the classes. Hats off to hard working students and staff to produce such an amazing results.

Monthly Report Sep 2017

The school is back in action after summer vacation and teacher’s capacity building L1 and L2 trainings.

1st Term exams: – 1st term exams started in the school by end of September. The school staff have covered 100% of the planned syllabus and hoping for good results.

NGO registration process: – The process to get our NGO register in USA is almost completed. NGO being registered under the title of “Naya Ujalla”(New Light). Stay tune on the progress.

Monthly Report Aug 2017

Teacher training: – Long awaited Teacher training was conducted with the coordination of Punjab Education Foundation. This teacher training was 2 weeks long and teachers completed Level 1 and Level 2 capacity building trainings successfully, Teachers from other schools joined this stimulating training as well bringing total number of participates to 20.

Summer Vacations: – Right after the Teacher’s training, the School is back into action. School was opened on August 10th.

Independence Day Celebration: – Pakistan Independence Day was celebrated on Aug 14th. The students dressed up for this day in green and white. Young students delivered patriotic speeches with some great ideas on how would they contribute to the country when they grow up.

Intel matching Grant: – Intel Annual Matching grant was released in the month of August, The grant has been a huge support for our cause to sustain and grow. APS receives Intel matching grant, since last number of years this grant has contributed our cause to grow immensely. APS received $3750 this year which were equalized to around PKR 380,000 when deposited in to Pakistan Bank.

 

This brings total Funds raised in Year 2017 to $8560.

Monthly Report July 2017

Summer Vacations are still on and there is low activity in School operations.

In the meanwhile, we are trying to organize Teacher’s training courses for the teachers by the end of summer vacation.

Teacher’s training course is being planned by the start of August. This will be a 2 weeks long Level 1 and Level 2 Training course.

Monthly Report May 2017

Awareness session on APS in Intel Corporation:-

On May 24th, we presented Amir Public School Pakistan in Intel USA (Asia Week). We raised the awareness on APS and the type work we do. The session was organized with the support of Intel Pakistan network and Intel Arizona communication group.

A large audience attended the session and some delicious food was served. We are thrilled to see the pledges coming from the audience such as … 3 brand new Tablets for the School.

APS coordinator visit before summer vacation:-

Our volunteer educationist Mrs Nabeela Sandhu regularly visits the school, Mr Sandhu arrived to the school before summer vacation to work with teachers on summer vacation home work Projects and post vacation plans. She also worked along with school students.

Funds:-

We raised 1310 USD during the month of May. Following is the breakdown of the funds generated.

Summer Vacation:-
